According to the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia, an expat's iqama can be renewed even if the employer's online services are suspended.
Jawazat clarified this on an inquiry from a Saudi Citizen, who asked, My computer online services have been suspended, is it possible to renew the iqama of his private driver?
Jawazat confirmed that stopping computer services of the employer does not affect the completion of services for his workers through Absher platform.
Earlier this, Jawazat stated that an expat worker's iqama can be renewed by the employer every three months, it includes the dependents of that expat worker. This procedure can be completed after payment of the required fee.
Jawazat also explained that with the exception of domestic workers and the like, work permits can be issued and renewed on a quarterly basis by the system.
As per the iqama period, the value of the work permit, iqama, financial consideration, and the fees necessary to obtain the above mentioned residence permits may also be obtained.
