A heart-wrenching incident has left a community in mourning as four members of an NRI family from Andhra Pradesh lost their lives in a devastating road accident near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday. The family was en route to Kuwait after their spiritual journey of Umrah.
Hailing from Madanapalle in Sri Annamayya, Dandu Ghouse Basha was working at an American University in Kuwait. Alongside him were his beloved wife Tabarak Sarwar and their two cherished sons – three-year-old Ehan and eight-month-old Dameel. Together, they embarked on a pilgrimage and offered prayers at the revered Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. Tragedy struck as they were returning to Kuwait, colliding with a trailer on the Hafna – Tuwakh road, approximately 120 km away from Riyadh.
The life-shattering accident unfolded as the newly purchased car caught fire upon impact with the trailer. The bodies have been transferred to Rumah General Hospital, and the necessary legal procedures are underway. Back in Bengaluru, Ghouse Basha's parents were hospitalized after learning of the heartrending loss.
The situation was compounded by the fact that most of the family's possessions, including travel documents, were consumed by the flames. In a remarkable effort aided by the police, the KMCC Malayali community workers, led by prominent social worker Sidhikh Tuvvur, managed not only to identify the victims but also reached out to their grieving family members.
