Category: Expats

According to the Cooperative Council of Health Insurance (CCHI), government departments are not required to offer insurance to their employees.

The spokesperson for CCHI told Al-Ekhbariya's An-Nahar news program that the council's role is to regulate the private health insurance sector, as well as other types of insurance.

An increase in health insurance commitment was announced by the Health Insurance Council (Daman), leading to an increase in insured beneficiaries during the second quarter of 2022, with a rate of 83%, up 8% from the same quarter last year.

According to the Council, the number of insured persons exceeded 10 million barrier during the second quarter of this year by about 10,050,044 beneficiaries registered in health insurance, estimated at 83%, compared to 9,150,264 at a rate of 75% last year.

During the second quarter of 2022, Al-Juhani explained that the increase in insured beneficiaries was due to the efforts of the Health Insurance Council to ensure compliance with its supervisory role and empower the sector to provide health care and protection to beneficiaries with maximum efficiency and quality and to ensure compliance with regulations.
