You can drive in Saudi Arabia if you are a GCC resident and plan to visit the country. Residents of GCC states (UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman) may use their driving license in Saudi Arabia as well.

After Saudi Arabia introduced a special service last year that allowed visitors to drive rented cars, you can also drive a rented car in the Kingdom. The General Directorate of Traffic offers these new services on Absher.

On the Absher platform of the Ministry of Interior, car rental companies can authorize visitors to drive in Saudi Arabia based on their visitor border numbers.

What are the documents required to rent a Car in Saudi Arabia for visitors?

In order to rent a car in Saudi Arabia, GCC residents must bring the following documents.

* GCC resident ID.

* Original Driving License issued in the GCC.

* Copy of Saudi Arabia's visa.

* Credit Car, for the payment of the fee.

How Long can I use GCC driving license for driving in Saudi Arabia?

A foreign and international driving license is valid for one year from the date of entry into the Kingdom and Saudi Arabia or until it expires, whichever is earlier, according to Article 42 of the Saudi Arabian Traffic Law.
