After announcing that the cancellation of home and institutional quarantine for those coming from abroad would be put into effect, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) clarified how people from suspended countries can enter the Kingdom.
In order to enter Saudi Arabia, individuals coming from countries whose entry into Saudi Arabia is suspended must stay for a period of 14 days in a third country from which entry into Saudi Arabia is not suspended.
The instructions also state that holders of a visit visa should not travel to suspended countries during the last 14 days in order to enter the Kingdom.
Jawazat responded to an inquiry received from some people regarding the extent to which a visitor whose status is Immune on Tawakkalna application will be allowed into the Kingdom without being required to stay in a third country for 2 weeks prior to the entry of the visitor.
Saudi Arabia's minister of interior announced on 5th March that all Corona virus restrictions have been lifted, including social distancing and the wearing of masks outdoors. Additionally, the new regulations do away with mandatory PCR tests, institutional or home quarantines after arrival in the Kingdom.
- All visitors to the Kingdom on visit visas of all kinds are required to obtain an insurance plan that covers the costs of treatment for Corona virus infection.
Additionally, the directive specifies that direct flights from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Angola, Comoros, Lesotho, Mozambique, Mauritius, Zambia, Seychelles, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan will no longer be suspended.
Travel suspensions will remain in place for a few countries, including Turkey and Lebanon.
