So far, more than 87,000 Indians nationals have been repatriated to India from Saudi Arabia through over 480 flights according to Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Ausaf Sayeed.
According to the Ambassador “As regards to the repatriation of Indians through the Vande Bharat Mission, more than 87,000 Indian nationals have been repatriated to India from different international airports in Saudi Arabia, thus far via more than 480 flights, out of a total of 162,000 Indians who had registered for repatriation to date.”
The Ambassador thanked the Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation for their continues assistance and corporation for carrying out such enormous task.
India’s Civil Aviation Ministry began the the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) to repatriate Indians, particularly from the Middle-East.
The Vande Bharat Mission's sixth Phase is expected to start on 1st September, 2020, and will be done by October 24, 2020.
India's Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri however tweeted that new destinations will be included in the new phase.
