The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia has revealed the penalties for those caught performing Hajj without a permit or tasreeh.
According to the Saudi Jawazat, those caught fingerprinting for Hajj without a permit will be deported from Saudi Arabia and prohibited from reentering for a period of 10 years.
Anyone caught without a permit going to Makkah or the Holy sites for Hajj will be fingerprinted and turned away. When they come to the Jawazat for Jawazat service, they will be arrested and deported.
- Saudi nationals caught transporting illegal pilgrims to the Hajj sites will be fined 10,000 Riyals for each pilgrim in addition to 15 days in prison for the first time; expatriates will also face the same punishment, which includes deportation.
If the violation occurs again, the fine will be increased to 50,000 riyals for each illegal pilgrim, a six-month jail term, and seizure of the vehicle.
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, only Saudi citizens and resident expatriates with an iqama can perform the Hajj rituals this year, or those who hold a valid Hajj visa.
One of the main requirements for citizens and resident expats to perform the hajj pilgrimage this year is they must have received 3 doses of vaccine against Corona virus, with Immune status on their Tawakkalna application.
As of this year, Saudi Arabia has allowed 1 million pilgrims to perform Hajj pilgrimage, of which 850,000 are international pilgrims and 150,000 are local pilgrims.
In the coming weeks, the Ministry of Hajj website will announce the procedure for applying for Hajj pilgrimage from inside the Kingdom.
