Saad Al-Hammad, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia, warned against posting cases of domestic violence on social media so as not to treat crime with another crime.
The Human Resources spokesperson appealed to Saudi citizens and expatriates, in a statement to Gulf Rotana, to report cases of domestic violence they are aware of to the competent authorities.
He explained that those who publish cases of domestic violence on social media risk falling under the law.
Al-Hammad encouraged anyone with information or who has witnessed violence, whether it was verbal or physical, to report it directly to the Family Violence Reporting Center, or through the Ministry's communication channels.
