In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, has announced the Saudization of 25% of engineering positions in the private sector, commencing on July 21, 2024.
This mandate applies to private sector businesses employing a minimum of five engineers, marking a significant step towards fostering employment opportunities for Saudi men and women across the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing is committed to overseeing and implementing this directive, ensuring alignment with the needs of the job market and the specific requirements of engineering roles.
To facilitate this initiative, private sector enterprises can leverage incentives and support programs provided by the Human Resources and Social Development system. These programs aim to assist businesses in the hiring process, including finding suitable candidates, providing necessary training and qualifications, and supporting career development post-employment.
Businesses are encouraged to tap into nationalization support programs within the system, including initiatives offered by the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF), emphasizing the prioritization of Saudi nationals in their recruitment efforts. This holistic approach underscores the commitment to enhancing the employment landscape and fostering the professional growth of Saudi citizens.
