Category: Expats

It has become possible for visitors from all over the world to use their visa for tourism activities and visit attractive destinations in different cities and regions of the Kingdom and experience the hospitality of the Saudi people with the launch of its electronic tourist visa in September 2019.

After registering for a permit in Eatmarna, Muslim visa holders can perform Umrah in the Kingdom. This was a major step forward in facilitating the entry of tourists from all over the world to learn about the ancient heritage, vibrant culture, and picturesque natural areas, from the mountains of Abha and Taif to those of Jeddah and Al Ahsa, and Riyadh, the beating heart of the Kingdom.

In the blessed month of Ramadan, the pilgrims coming to perform Umrah began to flock to the Red Sea city of Jeddah to enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere, especially the historical area, Al Balad, full of heritage stories and the scent of history, which is the only UNESCO World Heritage site in the city.

The historical area of Al-Balad or Jeddah is characterized by many monuments and archaeological and heritage buildings, which together represent a journey into the past, preserving the heritage and culture of its inhabitants, which gave it a unique flavor, including Ramadan customs and traditions, in addition to its cultural specificity, which attracts pilgrims particularly from Egypt and other Arab countries, because of the similarity of atmospheres, cultures, and customs

The Ramadan customs in Jeddah are also distinctive. Ramadan customs and traditions of the Hejaz region can be best viewed in historic Jeddah, where its streets are crowded with visitors to enjoy its unique atmosphere, as well as the spread of stalls selling traditional Ramadan foods, with vendors wearing the traditional clothing of the region. Many of their local food vendors practice this sale only during Ramadan and many tourists and visitors come to visit and eat their food daily, the most famous dishes are balila, liver and a wide variety of Ramadan juices.

Jeddah has thousands of pilgrims as a gateway to the Two Holy Mosques as well as its proximity to Makkah, with all means of transportation available, as well as the availability of buses and taxis reaching Makkah in less than an hour.

Visas for tourists helped attract pilgrims, visitors, and tourists from more than 49 countries. During the year, multiple kingdoms are allowed as long as the period does not exceed 90 days.

Through its various platforms that speak eight languages, 'Spirit of Saudi' also provides tourists with all the information and services they need around the clock, in addition to establishing an integrated center for tourist care by dialling 930 at any time.
