According to the General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) in Saudi Arabia, wrong parking contributes to traffic congestion, wasting other people's time.
There is a Traffic Law in Saudi Arabia that states that wrong parking, such as parking in places not designated for them or parking in places designated for special needs, is a traffic violation resulting in a fine range of 100 to 150 riyals. This violation may be less than its value, unless otherwise the reasons led to the highest entry, which are determined by the Department's specialized committee.
If you fail to follow required precautions while parking on public roads in an emergency, you could receive a fine of 300 riyals.
Within minutes of recording the violation, a message is sent to the owner or actual user of the vehicle informing them of the violation, including the time, date, and license plate number of the vehicle.
Saudi Moroor said on its official Twitter handle that wrong parking of vehicles has the following consequences:
* It jams traffic.
* It is unsafe for the vehicle.
* It disrupts others and
* It is a violation of traffic regulations.
Wrong parking is a serious offense in Saudi Arabia, it can result in significant fines or other punishments such as vehicle seizure or even imprisonment.
- Vehicle drivers must comply with local parking regulations and park only in designated areas. No parking is allowed on double yellow lines, in front of barriers, on sidewalks, near fire hydrants or bus stops, or anywhere else without parking signs.
