In light of the recent decision of the Council of Ministers, the existing electronic systems and procedures related to the process of foreign labor recruitment and dealing with expatriates will not be changed.
The Cabinet voted on May 17 to transfer the hosting of the Unified National Visa Platform to the National Information Center (NIC) within a year.
Cabinet members noted that their decision to adopt the platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a unified platform for visas will not mean any changes to the electronic systems and procedures currently in use at the Ministry of Interior and its platforms.
Among them are those related to the Border Law, the Recruitment Law, and the rules for dealing with expatriates. Cabinet has decided to convert the Online Visa Platform under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to NIC.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will establish a technical working group to ensure that the NIC's hosting of the platform is transferred within one year of issuance of the decision.
11 ministries and government agencies have been assigned to develop the Unified National Visa Platform. All work visa applications submitted by natural persons or legal entities for approval by MOFA's Unified National Platform for Visas will be managed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development through its platforms.
In addition to MOFA, members of the new committee will come from 10 other government agencies.
The committee will be responsible for developing the unified platform. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be the platform's owner and developer, while NIC will be its host.
