As of 6th March 2022, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that Umrah permits can now be obtained during Ramadan through Eatmarna and Tawakkalna applications.
The Ministry and other entities working for the service of Allah's guests are keen to facilitate Umrah pilgrims during Holy Ramadan by giving them the opportunity to plan in advance, so that those wishing to perform Umrah during the holy month can do so.
It is still mandatory for all visitors of the Grand Mosque to wear masks while performing Umrah rituals. In order to provide the most opportunity for Muslims to perform Umrah, the Ministry requires those who wish to change their Umrah permit to delete it first and then reissue the new permit with the revised date.
- The Ministry also stated that bookings for Umrah were raised from 8 to 12 times a day, enabling users to see how crowded the place will be by reading the colored icons while selecting the desired time and booking permit through Eatmarna and Tawakkalna.
