Especially during this holy month Ramadan, the Assistant Undersecretary for Dawah and Guidance Affairs at the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Dr. Bader Al-Fraih, is determined to provide the best services to visitors to the Grand Mosque.
Al-Fraih told Al-Ekhbariya this year's attendance for Itikaf in the Grand Mosque was very high, especially after the halt of the past two years due to the Corona pandemic.
The presidency expected such a high turnout and offered only the first five days of Ramadan for applications. The number of applicants reached more than 2,000.
- Al-Fraih reviewed the requirements that must be met by those seeking Itikaf, which are proof of identity and completion of immunization procedures against Covid-19, stating that the Itikaf permit cannot be issued unless these conditions are satisfied.
The validity of the Itikaf permit extends to the end of the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, emphasizing that it extends from the night of Eid Al-Fitr until the 21st of Ramadan.
- According to him, no one will be allowed to enter the sanctuary of the designated places for Itikaf in the Grand Mosque of Makkah or Prophet's Mosque without a permit.
According to Majid Al-Masoudi, Director for Dawah and Guidance at the Grand Mosque of Makkah, there will be an allocation booth in front of the King Abdullah expansion to deliver Itikaf permits to worshipers, so they can enter the mosque.
