Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) in Saudi Arabia said foreign vehicles are allowed to stay in the Kingdom for 3 months, after which a fine of 20 riyals will be imposed.
The tweet came in response to a question from the Ask Zakat Twitter account, in which a user asked, "My brother bought a car from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and brought it into the Kingdom. How long is the car allowed to stay and how much is the fine for overstaying?"
"Ask Zakat" responded to the question that the legal stay of a foreign vehicle is three months, and that if the period is exceeded, a fine of 20 riyals is imposed for each day of delay, not to exceed 10% of the value of the vehicle.
Earlier this year, the Zakat, Tax and Customs authority stated that, to exit the Kingdom from the vehicle, its driver had to carry the original and valid form, or a valid external authorization was required from the vehicle owner to the vehicle driver while crossing the border.
