A Saudi newspaper reported that two pregnant schoolteachers were killed in a collision on a road connecting Assir and Najran in south-west Saudi Arabia.
Al Watan said four other people were injured in the mishap on Tuesday as the female teachers were returning from school.
According to the paper, one of the dead teachers was in her ninth month of pregnancy, while the other was in her sixth month.
A Red Crescent spokesman in Najran told the paper that medics found two dead, three injured, and one slightly injured on the scene. A local hospital treated them.
The collision resulted in an overturned car that was badly damaged.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident. Late last month, Saudi Arabia's new school year began.
