Saudi Schools Welcome Over 6 Million Students In New Academic Year 1447-1448 AH

School Year Start Dates Across the Kingdom
Classes began on August 24, 2025 in most regions, while schools in Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, and Madinah will start later on August 31, 2025, in alignment with new scheduling that accommodates the Hajj season.
Major Projects and Ministry Preparations
- 75 new construction projects worth SR920 million.
- Comprehensive maintenance on more than 15,000 school buildings and 884,000 air conditioning units, costing over SR2 billion.
- Renovation and rehabilitation of more than 1,400 educational buildings at a cost of SR782 million to improve learning facilities
Student Numbers by Region
The Ministry of Education released detailed figures for each region:
- Riyadh: 2.84 million students in 6,873 schools.
- Eastern Province: more than 700,000 students.
- Qassim: over 320,000 students.
- Asir: 525,595 students in 3,430 schools.
- Tabuk: 211,372 students.
- Northern Borders: more than 100,500 students.
- Hail: over 180,000 students in more than 1,300 schools.
- Al-Jouf: 168,494 students in 937 schools.
- Jazan: 351,535 students in 2,556 schools.
- Najran: 183,302 students in 980 schools.
- Al-Baha: more than 80,000 students in over 760 schools .
