Some 1,131,324 expatriates violating labor and residency laws were arrested in 184 days as part of the Nation Free of Violators campaign which was launched on Nov. 15 last year.

A total of 19 ministries and government departments are participating in the campaign.

As many as 292,906 violators have been deported to their respective countries while 11,82, consisting of 10,113 men and 1,715 women, are being detained in various detention centers prior to deportation.

A total of 35,831 expatriates were found violating residency laws, 203,289 were arrested for violating labor regulations and 92,204 had border security violations. Some 16,276 people, which included 57 percent Yemenis and 40 percent Ethiopians, were caught while attempting to infiltrate into the Kingdom through its southern borders.

About 2,029 people, including 356 Saudis, were apprehended for providing accommodation and transportation to illegal expatriates.

About 330 Saudis were questioned, punished and released while 26 others are still in detention for further investigation.

As many as 161,418 violating expatriates were referred to their embassies and consulates to get travel documents. Some 198,958 were waiting to get flight booking confirmation.
