In a new amendment approved by the Saudi Cabinet, the fees for renewing exit and reentry visas have been doubled.
New amendments stipulate that the exit and return visa fee is SR200 for a single trip for a maximum duration of two months, SR100 for each additional month if the resident is within the Kingdom, and SR200 for each additional month if the resident is outside the Kingdom.
For multi-entry trips, the fee is SR500 for 3 months, and SR200 for each additional month if the resident is within the Kingdom, and SR400 if the applicant is outside the Kingdom.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved an amendment to the residency law that covers the renewal of residency permits for companions of foreign workers and domestic workers. With the amendment, residency renewal fees outside the Kingdom will be twice what they are within the Kingdom through the Ministry of Interior's electronic portal.
Amendments to the residency and travel document systems have been approved, allowing citizens to receive passports within 24 hours of application.
A paragraph was added to Article 12 of the travel documents law on Friday by the Council of Ministers that allows passports to be issued or renewed within 24 hours for SR500. For the implementation of the new decision, the Ministry of Interior is to set up the necessary mechanisms and controls.
