Saudi Arabian media reported that a young man was struck and killed by lightning in front of his family following recent heavy rains.
While trying to escape the heavy rains, the young man was grazing sheep when he was struck by lightning. The family made several attempts to save his life, but all efforts were unsuccessful.
Sabya, a city in the Jazan Province in the southwest of Saudi Arabia, was the place where the incident occurred.
An incident similar to this occurred on Friday in the same city where a Saudi child was struck by lightning and died.
Both were struck by lightning earlier this month, resulting in the death of a Saudi girl and the injury of her sister.
Saudi Arabia has been experiencing heavy to moderate rain along with severe thunderstorms over the past few days, causing Saudi Civil Defence to issue warnings urging the public to follow safety precautions.
