The Ministry of Education has decided to include archaeological education subjects in school curriculums.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Professional association of Archeology, Dr. Saad Al-Rashed, announced a cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Heritage Authority to include archaeological education subjects in students' curriculum in schools.

According to Al-Ekhbariya channel, Al-Rashed noted that there are committees currently working on preparing archeology subjects to be included in school curricula, as it will take its place in curriculum starting from the primary stage to the secondary stage.

Al-Rashed said that the introduction of archeology subjects will help students in raising archaeological awareness in the Kingdom in all its regions, and it will enhance national identity, noting that the association has sought for many years to include archaeology fields in educational curricula.

It is noteworthy that in a statement earlier, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi had approved the establishment of the first professional association of archeology in Saudi Arabia.

The association's board of directors was formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Saad Al-Rashed.

The association is considered as one of the professional societies that was established under the strategy of the Ministry of Culture for the non-profit sector that was recently approved by Prince Badr Bin Farhan.

The association aims to build a diverse system of non-profit organizations in various cultural sectors in Saudi Arabia' regions.
