The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has introduced a digital identity service for this year's Hajj pilgrims traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from around the world. This initiative is a significant step toward the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives, which focus on leveraging technology to enhance the experience of pilgrims and capitalize on digital transformation.
The digital ID service for pilgrims was developed in collaboration with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This innovative service enables pilgrims to verify their identities electronically via the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms, providing a lifetime spiritual utility.
By improving and enriching the pilgrimage experience, this service enhances the quality of services offered to pilgrims. The introduction of the digital ID aligns with the Kingdom's efforts to maintain the highest standards of service while embracing the latest advancements in digital technology to better serve pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
