Orange Line Marks Completion of Riyadh Metro Network
On Sunday, January 5, the Riyadh Metro Orange Line began operations, officially completing the phased rollout of the Riyadh Metro network. With all six lines now live, the city's residents and visitors can enjoy enhanced transportation options.
Orange Line Route and Features
The Orange Line, also known as Line 3, runs along Madinah Road, connecting Riyadh's east and west. It spans 41 kilometers, starting at Jeddah Road in the west and ending at the second eastern ring road near Khashm Al-Aan in the east.
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced that five stations on the Orange Line will serve passengers from 6:00 am, including:
- Jeddah Road
- Tuwaiq
- Douh
- Harun Al-Rashid Road
- Al-Naseem (Transfer station with Purple Line)
Additional Stations on the Blue Line
Alongside the launch of the Orange Line, three new stations on the Blue Line have also been opened. These stations are:
- Al-Morooj
- Bank Al-Bilad
- King Fahd Library
These stations improve connectivity between Olaya Street and Batha, further expanding the metro's reach.
Timeline of the Riyadh Metro Rollout
The Riyadh Metro has been launched in phases:
- December 1: Blue Line, Yellow Line, and Purple Line began operations.
- December 15: Red Line and Green Line were launched.
- January 5: Orange Line completes the network.

The Riyadh Metro is the largest metro network in the Middle East and the longest driverless train system in the world. It features:
- Six lines covering a total of 176 kilometers.
- 85 stations, including four main hubs.
- Operating hours from 6:00 am to midnight daily.
