Saudia Airlines and Kuwait Airways have been ranked among the lowest-cost airlines in the world, Kuwait Times reported.
A French study specialized in aviation has listed the kingdoms’s national carrier among the top 50 cheapest airlines worldwide
According to Rio2Go website, the research compared 200 major airlines by the average price per kilometre on international flight searches. It also showed that 24 of the 30 cheapest airlines are based in either Asia or the Middle East.
The report ranked Australian TigerAir on top of the list with a low cost of $0.06 per kilometre, while the cost onboard Malaysia AirAsia is $0.07 per kilometre, followed by AirIndia Express with $0.08 and Indonesia AirAsia with $0.09.
Ten European airlines were also included in the list including the Norwegian Premiera Air, RyanAir of Ireland, and WOW Air of Iceland with an average of $0.10 per kilometre.
The report ranks Kuwait Airways with an average cost of $0.11 per kilometer, followed by Saudi Arabian Airline with $0.13 per kilometer.
