Revised Admission Protocols
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education has updated its admission procedures to enable Syrian and Yemeni students on visit visas to enrol in local schools. This change comes in response to a recent increase in inquiries regarding transfer and admission for the current academic year.
New Guidelines for Transfers
For secondary students, transfers will now be managed according to the Equivalency and Transfers Guide within the Pathways System. This framework aims to facilitate smooth transitions between different educational systems.
Elementary and middle school transfers are also being standardized, following regulations in the Guide to Admission and Registration in Public Education, with strict adherence to established transfer timelines.
Policies for Diverse Backgrounds
The new guidelines also address policies for children of diverse backgrounds currently residing in the Kingdom. This includes children of Saudi nationals facing bureaucratic issues with family records and children born to Saudi mothers and non-Saudi fathers.
The Ministry continues to support the educational integration of children from families who previously resided in the Kingdom without legal status but are now documented and fingerprinted by the Ministry of Interior. These students are eligible to attend government schools based on capacity or opt for private education, contingent on status confirmation through the Kingdom’s digital platforms, Tawakkalna or Absher.
