Get ready for heavy downpours in the Saudi holy cities of Mecca and Medina as the Saudi National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts significant rainfall next week.
The NCM forecasts heavy rainfall ranging from 50-60mm in Mecca and Medina, with the possibility of extending to other regions like Baha, Asir, Jizan, and Tabuk.
Residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and early warnings issued by the NCM.
NCM spokesman Hussain Al Qahtani highlighted that Munifah town in the Eastern Province received over 42mm of rain in just one hour, indicating the intensity of the upcoming rains.
Precautionary measures are being taken following recent heavy rain incidents, including the suspension of in-person classes in the Eastern Province and the temporary closure of vital infrastructure like the King Fahd Road tunnel in Dammam.
