Saudi man and his 7-year-old son died after their vehicle got stuck in the sand in the middle of the desert because of thirst and exhaustion, local media reported.
During a trip to a sheep grazing barn in the desert, the father and son were tragically shot and killed in Ajman Valley, Saudi Arabia.
The father's pick-up truck got stuck in the sand, and after several failed attempts to free it, he gave up after becoming exhausted due to the high temperatures.
In the absence of a mobile phone signal, he decided to continue his journey on foot. The man later died of a heart attack.
In addition to his father's death, the son is also believed to have tried to continue the journey alone, but also died of thirst and exhaustion a few kilometers away.
Their families reported them missing, and Saudi rescue teams found them. Their bodies were taken to Prince Sultan Hospital for burial.
