In a heart-wrenching incident, four children have lost their lives in a devastating house fire in Al Ahsa, located in eastern Saudi Arabia.
The nation mourns the loss of these young lives as the absence of parents during the tragedy adds to the profound grief. The entire country stands in solidarity, expressing deep sorrow and shock over this devastating loss for the family.
According to reports, the fire broke out in the residence of Ali bin Ibrahim Al Obaid, a highly respected fencing coach at the National Justice Club, during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Tragically, the coach's four children, Heba (10), Hussain (9), Lian (2), and Rahaf (1), were asleep in the house when the fire erupted. The whereabouts of the parents at the time of the incident remain unclear.
The fire, believed to be caused by an electrical short circuit on the ground floor, quickly spread to the second floor where the children were sleeping, leading to suffocation in their sleep. Al Obaid expressed immense grief at the loss, acknowledging that it is the will of God, and urged for patience and acceptance in the face of this tragedy.
The Saudi Fencing Federation extended its heartfelt condolences to Al Obaid and his family through its official X account.
In a separate incident, civil defense teams in Al Ahsa reported another fire in a house in the village of Abu Thur, resulting in injuries to four individuals who were promptly taken to the hospital for medical care.
