The Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA) has commenced the initial phase of regulating the order delivery sector, effective from April 2nd.
As part of this phase, non-Saudi workers in delivery apps are mandated to affiliate with licensed transport companies in four key regions: Al-Baha, Jazan, Najran, and the Northern Borders Region. Freelance work is restricted to Saudis, and guidelines for motorcycle use in deliveries, including uniform adoption, have been introduced in collaboration with the General Department of Traffic.
These measures aim to enhance service quality, protect consumer rights, and mitigate traffic risks associated with motorcycle delivery. Compliance with regulations ensures a safer environment for both consumers and drivers, fostering an improved delivery experience.
The TGA's uniform policy for non-Saudi drivers contributes to a unified professional appearance, bolstering reliability and safety in the delivery sector. The authority remains committed to monitoring the implementation and assessing the impact of these regulations, with the second phase slated for announcement before July 1st.
