The Saudi Ministry of Interior has introduced a significant initiative, announcing a 50% reduction in accumulated traffic fines incurred before April 18, 2024 (9/10/1445 AH). This move, directed by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to incentivize offenders to clear their fines within six months from the initiative's commencement.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), this initiative encourages violators to settle their fines promptly, offering flexibility in payment methods. Whether settling all fines at once or individually, offenders have the opportunity to avail themselves of the reduced rates, provided safety-related violations are avoided.
The Ministry clarified that post-implementation of this reduction, Article 75 of the Traffic Law would be enforced. This provision entails a 25% reduction for single violations, accompanied by potential legal repercussions for non-compliance.
Emphasizing the importance of adherence to traffic regulations, the Ministry urges all road users to prioritize public safety and avoid violations.
