UAE, Kuwait and Jordan have expressed their strong condemnation of the continued attempts of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthis to target Saudi Arabia, by launching a ballistic missile towards the southern region, which the coalition forces were able to intercept and destroy, local media reported.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia regarding these terrorist attacks against civilians, standing with it in one line against every threat to its security and stability, and supporting it in all measures it takes to preserve its security and the safety of citizens and residents.

The statement emphasised that the security of the UAE and Saudi Arabia is indivisible, and that any threat or danger posed to the Kingdom is absolutely a threat to the UAE.

It pointed out that the continuation of these attacks illustrates the nature of the danger facing the region from the Houthi coup, and considered it new evidence of these militias’ efforts to undermine security and stability.

Meantime, Kuwait said the Houthis’ targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, by launching ballistic missiles, is a violation of all international conventions and norms, and a threat to the security and stability of the Kingdom and the region, the Kuwait News Agency quoted an official source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as saying.

The source appealed to the international community to quickly assume its responsibilities to put an end to that targeting and threat to the security of the Kingdom and the region, stressing that Kuwait fully stands by the Kingdom and supports it in all measures it takes to preserve its security and stability.

On the other hand, the Jordanian government condemned the continued attempts of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia to target the territory of Saudi Arabia, by launching a ballistic missile towards the southern region that the coalition forces managed to intercept and destroy.

The spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Dhaifallah Al Fayez, affirmed his country’s condemnation and rejection of this cowardly terrorist attack.

Al Fayez also reiterated that the security of Saudi Arabia and Jordan is one and indivisible and that any threat to the security of Riyadh is a threat to the security and stability of the entire region, praising the capabilities of the Arab coalition forces and their success in confronting these attacks and intercepting and destroying the missile.

The Arab Coalition intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched on Sunday toward Saudi Arabia by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, the official Saudi Press Agency reported.

Spokesman for the Arab Coalition forces, Colonel Turki Al Maliki, confirmed the missile targeting civilians had been intercepted and destroyed.

Cross-border attacks by Iran-aligned Houthi forces have escalated since late May, when a truce prompted by the coronavirus pandemic expired. In late June, missiles reached the Saudi capital Riyadh.

On Thursday, forces intercepteed and shot down a “booby-trapped” drone targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the city of Khamis Mushait.
